Wet hulled “Giling Basah” is the traditional coffee processing method unique to Sumatra- Wet hulled coffees are distinct from other processing methods because their unique earthy, spicy, herbaceous flavour profile characterizes them. The process is also very labour-intensive, contributing to the higher bean cost.
